  READING QUOTES FOR YOUR INSPIRATION...

To read is to empower
To empower is to write
To write is to influence
To Influence is to change
To change is to live.
~ Jane Evershed ~
More than a Tea Party

When the Day of Judgment dawns and the great conquerers and lawyers and statesmen come to receive their rewards --
their crowns, their laurels, their names carved indelibly upon imperishable marble --
the Almighty will turn to Peter and will say,

not without a certain envy when he sees us coming with our books under our arms, "Look, these need no reward. We have nothing to
give them here. They have loved reading. (1932)
~ Virginia Woolf ~

I have often reflected upon the new vistas that reading opened to me.
I knew right there in prison that reading had changed forever the
course of my life. As I see it today, the ability to read awoke in me
some long dormant craving to be mentally alive.

~ Malcolm X ~

The real risks for any artist are taken in pushing the work
to the limits of what is possible, in the attempt to increase the sum
of what it is possible to think. Books become good when they
go to this edge and risk falling over it --when they endanger
the artist by reason of what he has, or has not, artistically dared.
~ Salman Rushdie ~

Reading makes immigrants of us all.
It takes us away from home, but more important,
it finds homes for us everywhere.
~ Hazel Rochman ~
